My Dad and Mum

You know, I always thought my parents don't love each other much. Well, from the moment I started learning about relationships, I only see my parents quarrelling or when they do talk, it sounds like shouting.

Of cos, I have never see them show concern for each other before. Well, guess it's not that type of concern that I imagined. And also, they being traditional chinese, feel embarrassed showing emotions openly.

I did heard from my mum about those days when they are dating...etc.

And there was one Valentine Day when I received flowers from my ex-boyfriend at my house. My parents were there and they happened to see it. After that, my mum was rattling on about they never celebrate Valentine Day, never receive flowers from my dad...etc. Know what my dad did, he took out all the money in his wallet which was 60 bucks and gave it to my mum and asked her to buy something she likes.

Haha... Well, other than that, I still don't really feel that they love each other much. To me, it's more of the obligations than real love for each other. I never see them close to each other before.

But today I have a very interesting encounter. I was eating dinner with my parents. My dad bought ice jelly, then my mum was saying she has diabetes so can't eat. My dad said "Aiyoh, a little bit never mind lah", then he scoped one spoonful and fed my mum! Wah, I nearly spit out my sugar cane! Haha...

After dinner, on the way back in the car, we were talking about cars and don't know how it leads to my parents' date at Jurong Bird Park when they were young.

Haha... they were saying that they still remembered that the glass of orange juice cost $12! And it was like more than 20 yrs ago, when 10 cents can buy yourself a drink!

So they keep on saying about it's so expensive and my dad spent almost $100. Cos he bought 5 glasses of orange juice and other stuffs...

I asked him, "why you buy 5?" Haha... He said that my 5th uncle went also, I think my auntie went also, and I guessed there was someone else too... Haha... then my mum asked my dad why he asked my 5th uncle to go? haha... then my dad says "I didn't ask him to go! He wants to come along himself and cos my sister also coming!"

Haha... I was looking at them having this conversation and I can see the smiles on their faces. And how they laughed together.

At that moment, my parents were thinking about their memories with each other.

I guessed they do love each other. But this love is no longer the kind of couple love. It's more of the family love, like my love for my mum and dad.

I feel so happy knowing that my parents do love each other. At this moment when I totally lost hope in any kind of relationship in guys, this kinda comforts me...

Anyway, here's a picture of my beloved dad and mum... haha...
